You may already have your Owner Week on the calendar, but have you booked what you want to do once you arrive?

Some of Breckenridge’s most memorable winter experiences have limited availability and can fill long before you arrive. Dog-sledding tours accommodate small groups. Sleigh rides have limited departure times. Ski school can reach capacity during holiday weeks. By the time you arrive in town, the experience or time you wanted may already be gone.

If your winter visit is booked, now is the time to plan the moments that will make it memorable.

Visiting over the holidays? Start booking as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.

Book These First

Some winter plans can wait until you arrive. These cannot. Dog-sledding tours accommodate only a small number of guests, and ski school availability becomes especially limited during holidays. If either experience is important to your family, move it to the top of your planning list.

Good Times Dog Sledding

Few winter experiences are as memorable as traveling through the Swan River Valley behind a team of Siberian huskies. During this six-mile adventure, guests rotate between driving the sled, riding in the sled and traveling with the guide. Along the way, you will learn how the dogs work together and what it takes to guide a team through the snow.

Tours are limited to small groups, which means availability can disappear quickly. Children must be at least 5 years old to participate.

BGV Concierge does not book this experience. Reserve directly with Good Times Adventures.

Ski and Snowboard Lessons

Whether someone in your group is clicking into skis for the first time or ready to build confidence on more challenging terrain, a lesson can change the course of the entire vacation. It can also be one of the most difficult reservations to secure during Christmas, New Year’s, spring break and other peak periods.

Choose your location carefully when reserving. Beaver Run is generally the most convenient option for owners staying at Grand Timber Lodge, while the Peak 8 School is convenient for Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and Grand Colorado on Peak 8.

Lessons are offered by Breckenridge Ski Resort and must be booked directly through Vail Resorts.

A Little Winter Magic

Not every winter memory needs to come with an adrenaline rush. Two Below Zero’s sleigh rides pair snowy mountain scenery with warm drinks, live entertainment and the simple magic of traveling by sleigh. Both experiences are popular with families and groups, so reserve early for holiday and peak-season visits.

Two Below Zero Hot Cocoa Sleigh Ride

Settle beneath a warm blanket for a scenic ride from the Frisco Nordic Center to Two Below Zero’s heated camp. Once inside, warm up with hot cocoa and enjoy a short live music show before the return trip. The experience lasts approximately one hour, making it an easy addition to an afternoon in Frisco and a memorable option for guests of all ages.

Two Below Zero Dinner Sleigh Ride

Turn your sleigh ride into a complete evening out. After traveling beneath the stars to Two Below Zero’s backcountry camp, guests settle into a heated tent for a three-course dinner and live entertainment. The evening concludes with a peaceful sleigh ride back through the snow, making this a wonderful choice for celebrations, family traditions or simply a special night away from the slopes.

Adventure

Trade the familiar ski runs for snow-covered trails through the Colorado backcountry. Whether you want to stay close to Breckenridge or explore the high country near Leadville, these guided tours offer two very different ways to experience winter from the driver’s seat.

Good Times Snowmobiling — Breckenridge

Good Times Adventures makes it easy to add snowmobiling to your Breckenridge vacation without traveling far from your resort. It’s a popular two-hour tour that winds through the Swan River Valley and White River National Forest before climbing toward Georgia Pass and the Continental Divide. The tour is designed with first-time riders in mind, combining groomed trails, mountain scenery and guidance from an experienced team.

Space is limited, particularly during holiday weeks. BGV Concierge does not book this experience, so owners should reserve directly with Good Times Adventures.

White Mountain Snowmobiling — near Leadville

For owners ready to venture farther into the high country, White Mountain Snowmobile Tours offers experiences for a range of ages and comfort levels. Families and first-time riders can explore groomed trails on the popular Prospector Tour, while more experienced riders can choose a higher-adventure option. Along the way, riders are treated to expansive alpine views, open meadows and dramatic terrain near the Continental Divide.

Tours around Christmas, New Year’s and other peak travel periods can fill well in advance. Contact BGV Concierge to reserve your tour and receive the available owner discount.
