Interval International Resort Spotlight
El Cid: El Moro Beach Resort
We recently caught up with Emily, one of the owners at Grand Lodge on Peak 7, who just returned from an exciting exchange with Interval International to Mazatlán! Emily and her guests had a fantastic time at El Moro Beach Resort, spending a week immersed in adventure, savoring delicious local cuisine, and soaking up the sun. Check out Emily’s experience, and if you need help with your own bookings, don’t hesitate to contact our Exchange Support team!
Resort: El Cid El Moro Beach Resort
- What resort did you book?
We booked our vacation to El Cid El Moro Beach Resort, a premier-rated resort located in Mazatlán, Mexico!
- What accommodations did you book? How many people did your unit sleep?
We stayed in a two-bedroom unit that can sleep up to eight people. There was a master room with a king-sized bed and a private bathroom. The second bedroom had two kind-sized bed with shared access to a bathroom connected to the living space. The living space also had a queen murphy bed. We had plenty of space for the six people we had on the trip.
- What was the atmosphere of the resort?
The resort was very fun! It had a good mix of a vacation vibes and a party atmosphere, but was still family friendly. We found the property and staff to be very welcoming!
- What amenities were available at the resort?
The amenities were great! There was an adults-only and Interval International guest exclusive pool, movie theaters, on-site resort activities, restaurants and bars, beach access, and an airport shuttle.
- Was it difficult to find availability through Interval International?
Nope! Mazatlán isn’t as popular as some other Mexico destinations like Cancun or Cabo, so we found plenty of openings! The Exchange Support team helped us book our week and made it super simple.
Destination: Mazatlán
- What was Mazatlán like?
Mazatlán is located on the Pacific coast of Mexico, north of Puerto Vallarta. Mazatlán has fun beachside vacation vibes, lots of late-night energy, cheap shopping, amazing local food, and a perfect mix of local culture and tourism.
- How did you get to your resort? Do you recommend a rental car?
I would not recommend booking a rental car unless you are experienced at driving in Mexico- it’s a little hectic! Luckily at El Moro you don’t need to, the airport shuttle will take you directly to the resort. You can also take a pulmonia ride around the boardwalk and taxi to and from your excursions for super cheap!
- What types of things are there to do at this destination?
There is so much to do in Mazatlán! You can zipline, go for a lighthouse hike, local food tour, boat tour, all beach water games and activities, shopping, distillery tour, dinner boat rides, aquarium, and so much more! There’s really something for every type of vacationer.
- Is the area family-friendly or more adult-oriented?
While you could definitely bring the family to this resort, I would say that the atmosphere is a little more adult-oriented. With the late-night scene and somewhat of a party atmosphere, this would probably be a better vacation for adults.
- Any restaurant recommendations?
We ate so much incredible food! Here are a few of our favorites. Epa-epa for tacos, La Sinalense, Panchos for breakfast, El Galeron, and Del Pata Salada.
