The Carlin

Located in the heart of downtown, The Carlin is an American coastal cuisine destination featuring a lively main-floor bar and a sophisticated underground speakeasy. Known for its elevated cocktails, The Carlin also offers refined zero-proof options that deliver as much depth and complexity as their spirited counterparts.

What we tried:

  • N/Agroni Spritz: A bold and bitter aperitif-style drink featuring Giffard Sirop, Seedlip Spice 94, Fee Brothers lemon bitters, and soda.
  • Simpler ThymeA bright and refreshing blend of lavender, thyme, lemon, and soda.

Bonus: Try the mocktails at The Carlin’s sister restaurant, Aurum, for another impressive selection of nonalcoholic options.

Rootstalk

Rootstalk is a culinary gem in Breckenridge, housed in a cozy Victorian home. The restaurant focuses on seasonally inspired, chef-driven cuisine, and its commitment to quality extends to its mocktail menu. Each zero-proof drink is made with fresh ingredients and creative flavor pairings that make skipping alcohol an easy choice.

What we tried:

  • What’s Up DocA vibrant, earthy blend of carrot, ginger, and honey.
  • Respect Your EldersA delicate and floral mix of elderflower, pineapple, lemon, and soda.

Bonus: Rootstalk’s sister restaurant, Radicato, also offers well-crafted mocktails with an Italian-inspired twist.

Blue River Bistro

This modern yet cozy bistro is a favorite among Breckenridge locals and visitors alike thanks to its contemporary American cuisine and fantastic happy hour—including an impressive lineup of zero-proof options. Blue River Bistro’s mocktails highlight fresh fruits, aromatic herbs, and a touch of mixology magic.

What we tried:

  • Ginger SpiceA warming, slightly spiced blend of ginger shrub, lemon, simple syrup, soda, and cinnamon.
  • Passionfruit Pineapple Express: A tropical-inspired drink featuring passionfruit, pineapple, lemon, simple syrup, and egg white for a smooth, frothy texture.
  • Berry No-jito: A refreshing twist on the classic mojito with strawberry, lime, mint, agave, and soda.

Breckenridge Distillery

While Breckenridge Distillery is best known for its award-winning spirits, it also offers a stellar lineup of nonalcoholic options. Their mocktails are crafted with the same attention to detail as their boozy beverages, incorporating house-made syrups, fresh juices, and unique flavors.

What we tried:

  • Pom CollinsA take on a Tom Collins, featuring pomegranate, persimmon, cranberry, and Fever Tree sparkling grapefruit.
  • The Shire: A zesty and slightly spicy blend of blood orange, ginger tea, and yuzu.
  • Sorting HatA rich and spiced creation with pear purée, orgeat, lemon, and clove.

Prospector

A hidden gem in Breckenridge, located in a historic lodging establishment, Prospector is known for its warm, rustic ambiance and expertly crafted drinks. Their mocktails are no exception, offering a perfect balance of flavor and creativity that make for a delightful alcohol-free experience.

What we tried:

  • Mia’s Cider: A cozy, spiced blend of pomegranate, cider, vanilla, chai syrup, and soda water.
  • Sophia’s Sipper: A floral and citrusy combination of lavender, lemon, soda, and a luscious lavender foam.
