Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican national holiday, celebrates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. In parts of Mexico, particularly in the town of Puebla, the holiday is celebrated with military reenactments, parades, cultural festivals, dancing, and food. Fiesta Jalisco prides itself on its authentic dishes and traditional recipes straight from Jalisco, Mexico. At Fiesta Jalisco, customers are treated like family! Oaxacan Bites is located at the North end of Main Street, in the yellow taco stand! Oaxacan Bites features many taco truck favorites such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The stand sells dishes popular and traditional in Oaxaca, Mexico. One such dish is called tlayuda, which is a thin tostada topped with beans, cheese, vegetables, cabbage, avocado, and meat. Alberto’s Mexican Kitchen is a new arrival on the Breckenridge restaurant scene. Located on Airport road, just a short way past the car wash, Alberto’s is a family-owned establishment serving up genuine and delicious Mexican street food. They have a limited menu during the spring season but they are still slinging their flavorful street tacos! Their house margarita has a few yummy upgrade options so you can keep it traditional or add prickly pear, mango, or strawberry puree! While Alberto’s may be slightly off the beaten path, it is worth the short trip for a Cinco de Mayo happy hour!

Located on the North end of Main Street, Breckenridge Taphouse has 37 beers on tap, exotic tequilas, vintage whiskeys, worldly wines, and gourmet Mexican food!
