Summer is just around the corner, and we’re already dreaming about all of the fun that is in store! As summer kicks off, so does the town’s stacked lineup of events! We’ve got everything from live music and festivals to outdoor adventures and community gatherings. You may have come to Summit County for the outdoor activities and stunning scenery, but you won’t want to miss the events that make our mountain town so special! Check out what’s happening this June, July, and August.

Keystone Bacon & Bourbon Festival

June 27 – 28

The Keystone tradition, Bacon and Bourbon Festival, returns for another year at River Run Village! Vendors from all across the state will cook up bacon and bacon-inspired cuisine, with dozens of bourbons available for sampling. The festivities include a dozen free concerts and bacon-eating contests. This event is a family affair where kids can enjoy the many activities available at Camp Bacon! If you love bacon, bourbon, or live music, this weekend-long celebration is the must-attend ode to all things bacon!

Farmer’s Markets Begin in Summit County

June 5 & June 7

A sure sign that summer is here is when the farmers’ markets open for the season! The Breckenridge Sunday Market and the Dillon Farmer’s Market are great places to shop for artwork, handmade goods, local produce, and so much more. Enjoy live music, yoga, and community while supporting local artisans and businesses. The Dillon Farmer’s Market takes place each Friday throughout the summer, and the Breckenridge Sunday Market takes place each Sunday.

Rob Millisor: Legacy In Action Day

BGV has honored late owner/developer Rob Millisor through the Heart Health event for almost a decade. The Rob A. Millisor (RAM) Legacy in Action is a volunteer-based event that engages BGV employees, family members, and sponsors to highlight our commitment to giving back, as Rob did. The change is rooted in a desire to keep Rob’s legacy vibrant and meaningful in our community!

Lake Dillon Beer Festival

June 13

Generally considered the official start to summer in Dillon, Lake Dillon Beer Festival is arguably the town’s most popular event! Taste beers from over 30 Colorado breweries while enjoying the breathtaking views of Lake Dillon and the Tenmile Range from the Dillon Amphitheater. There will be beer (obviously), food vendors, and live music available in abundance. Bask in the high alpine ambiance and beats while trying out some local craft brews. As if it wasn’t good enough already, this event supports the Colorado Brewers Guild and the Blue River Watershed Group.

Breckenridge Agave Festival

June 26 – 28

Breckenridge Agave Festival complements the summer lineup for all those taco and tequila lovers out there. Sample high-end tequila and mezcal while enjoying tacos handcrafted by local chefs. Enjoy live music while you indulge in tequilas during the Grand Tasting. This event takes place in the Main Street Station area, with an agave pairing dinner at Sauce on the Maggie!

Breck Pride

June 11 – 13

This Pride Month, Breck Pride will be celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in Breckenridge. With events such as Pride Ride, Drag Brunch, Pride March, and more, the LGBTQ+ community and allies can embrace the outdoors and who they are! All are welcome at these events, with the goal of fostering education, inspiration, acceptance, understanding, and respect.

The Epic Discovery Park, located at the Peak 8 base area, will be opening for the season, along with the BreckConnect Gondola, on June 12Join in the family fun with putt-putt, climbing walls, ropes courses, alpine coasters, and more! Breckenridge Backstage Theater: Murder on the Orient Express

This summer, Breckenridge Backstage Theater presents Murder on the Orient Express. Adapted from Agatha Christie’s masterpiece by two-time Tony-nominated playwright Ken Ludwig, Murder on the Orient Express is a funny, fast-paced thrill ride. Join Backstage for a night of mystery and mayhem, perfect for the whole family!

Independence Day Celebration and Drone Show

July 4

On Independence Day, downtown Breckenridge will come alive with family-friendly Fourth of July fun. Main Street will close to vehicles from French to Park Avenue for our patriotic Independence Day celebration. Look forward to athletic competitions, live music and events, and the Main Street Parade! As the sun goes down, Breckenridge will be hosting a drone show this year! Our beautiful mountain will serve as the backdrop for a reimagined 4th of July moment; a culmination of innovation, artistry, and community. As this is a very busy and popular event, it’s recommended that your pets stay at home and visitors take public transportation when possible.

Keystone will be kicking off Independence Day weekend with Stars & Guitars, a patriotic 4th of July celebration! Get ready for some family-friendly Independence Day fun!

Frisco Duathlon

July 10

Traditionally a Triathlon, Frisco will be hosting this annual athletic event as a Duathlon this year due to historically low water levels. This mountain-town version of a duathlon features segments of mountain biking (13k) and trail running (5.6k)! Participants can either race the entire course or compete as a team. There will be a post-race party on the Plaza outside of Slopeside Hall with a well-earned meal and beer for all athletes.

Wildflower Week

July 2 – 12

Join us for the first-ever Breckenridge Wildflower Week, a celebration surrounding the peak bloom season in the Rockies! Activities such as plein air painting in alpine gardens and guided meadow hikes, botanical-inspired cocktails, creative workshops, kid-friendly crafts, and sustainable nature education abound during this 11-day festival of flowers! Discover the vibrance of summer in the mountains!

Keystone Wine & Jazz Festival

July 18 – 19

Raise your wine glasses for the return of the Keystone Wine & Jazz Festival, a beloved annual event hosted by our neighbors in Keystone. The event takes place in River Run Village and offers an extensive selection of wine and food for visitors to sample. Check out the lineup of jazz musicians here. This Keystone tradition celebrates some of the best things in life: food, wine, and music!

River Run Art Festival

Over 80 artists from across the country will be setting up shop for three days in River Run Village at Keystone. Featuring handmade art, unique gifts, and functional pieces appealing to all tastes and budgets, the River Run Art Festival has something for every art lover. Get ready for an extraordinary wine-tasting experience at the Breckenridge Food and Wine Festival! Main Street Station Plaza and The Village at Breckenridge, near Peak Nine, will become a mountain vineyard. With over 300 wines, there’s something for everyone. Taste and enjoy the mix of flavors, music, and mountain views!

Breckenridge International Festival of Arts

August 20 – 23

According to BreckCreate, this year’s Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA), “explores the joyous wonder of adventure, creativity, nature, and play inspired by everything from psychedelic sounds and curious gatherings to wild creatures and unexpected encounters.” BIFA is a celebration of the arts like no other! BreckCreate curates a lineup of multi-media events and activities to delight the senses and share the joy of the creative arts. This year features a headline performance by Beats Antique, Other Worlds art exhibition, and the curious Close Act Theatre’s Blue Birds!

Keystone Bluegrass & Beer

August 1 – 2

The Bluegrass & Beer Festival at Keystone is a local summer favorite! Enjoy live music all weekend long while sipping and sampling craft beers from Colorado and beyond. Bluegrass bands will be performing on three different stages throughout Keystone’s River Run Village. As always, Keystone festivals are free to attend with the option to purchase food and beverages. Ticket packages are also available with deals on beer tasting and food!

Breck Epic

August 9 – 14

BreckEpic, a six-day mountain biking race, is not for the faint of heart! The race consists of six backcountry loops, each between 35-50 miles long, totaling over 40,000 vertical feet of gain. Each of the six races begins or finishes within one mile of downtown Breckenridge. Check out their course schedule to catch a glimpse of these truly epic athletes in action!

Breckenridge Hogfest: Bacon and Bourbon

August 28 – 30

Bacon, bourbon, and live music? What’s not to love! Sip and sample bourbons, whiskeys, scotches, and barrel-aged spirits from master distillers while indulging in delicious bacon dishes from local food vendors. If you’re looking for an afternoon of indulgence, we’d recommend the Grand Tasting on Saturday, with bourbon education and sampling, unlimited samples of bourbon and bacon, and a commemorative glass.

Breckenridge Wine Classic

August 20 – 22

Breckenridge Wine Classic is a weekend-long celebration of all things wine! Join us in an all-inclusive wine tasting, wine-pairing dinners, wine trivia, and more!
