Go Time for Snow Time

Yes, Breckenridge glistens during the holidays. And the Spring Break weeks feature sunny days and lots of activities. But do you want to know a secret? Some real Breck local knowledge?

February is a fantastic time to ski and ride Breckenridge, especially on the weekdays!

Ullr, the Norse god of snow, is usually kind to us this month, with a historical average snowfall of 24 inches. That’s just a smidge behind March and April. The slightly colder temps in February ensure that most of what falls is fluffy and light and those powder stashes last longer.  Breck is lively all season long, of course, but there’s just a bit more room on the mountain in mid-winter. That means more acres per skier and more opportunities for fresh tracks. And at the end of the ski day, it’s easier to get a table at your favorite watering hole or restaurant.

The secret’s out. Locals know this is the month to rack up the vertical. It’s not unusual to finish a run and ski right up to the next lift chair, lapping the mountain until the legs say, “Hey, how about a hot chocolate break?!” And don’t forget that 2020 is a leap year, with 29 days in February. There’s no better way to spend that extra day than sharing smiles with family and friends on Peaks 6 to 10.

Get back to Breck this February. We can’t wait to see you again!  Looking forward to sharing a lift chair with you soon.
