View from the Bottom
September is one of my favorite times of the year in the high country. Days begin with crisp morning air and are followed by blue skies and perfect weather for any adventure. If you look hard enough, you may even find signs of changing of the seasons. A few yellow leaves have started to appear as we enter fall, another perfect season to spend in the mountains.
The change from summer into fall makes me think of one of our core business concepts at Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV), “Kaizen” or small, consistent changes yielding significant results. The daily changes of leaves gradually turning from green to gold leads to some of the most spectacular hues that will take over the mountainsides. There is no drastic shift but a perfect harmony of each leaf doings its part to create this stunning masterpiece. While Kaizen works differently in business, it’s always compelling to see a visual of small, consistent changes creating something Grand.
Kaizen is also a Japanese business philosophy regarding the processes that continuously improve operations and involves all employees. We take this concept seriously here at BGV and look to our entire staff for suggestions for minor improvements towards company goals, policies and procedures that will benefit all owners and guests.
Kaizen ties in perfectly with our company mission statement of Always Grand Vacations. These continuous improvements are imperative to creating the best vacation and ownership experiences for all owners and guests. We rely heavily on our frontline staff for their constructive input about processes and procedures to keep changing for the better. We know that these consistent small changes will ultimately yield big results and better vacation experiences. (this paragraph is redundant, maybe blend with the third paragraph)
At BGV, we strive to be better tomorrow than today, and we hope this is evident when you come to stay with us. We also encourage you to join us in practicing the concept of Kaizen and share your thoughts and ideas for any changes that can help us keep improving. As owners, you are part of our BGV Family and your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions matter. Send us an email, give us a call, fill out your annual survey, or share your suggestions the next time you are on the property. We love having you as part of our family and value your input greatly.
