Grand Timber Lodge enjoyed a busy summer, with occupancy returning to the levels seen before last winter. Following the completion of the residence refresh and roofing projects this spring, the team has continued working diligently to keep the property looking its best while remaining responsible financial stewards of owner dues.

Fall Maintenance Projects

The annual fall block project will soon be underway. Over the course of seven weeks, each building will close for one week, giving the team time to deep-clean each residence and complete preventive maintenance throughout the buildings.

This year, Grand Timber Lodge will complete window cleaning in-house to help keep costs as low as possible. Each pool and hot tub will also close for a day or two for routine maintenance. Closures will be staggered so that pools and hot tubs remain available for owners and guests to enjoy.

Wildlife Around the Property

This summer brought more wildlife activity to Grand Timber Lodge than the property typically experiences. As a precaution, the sliding glass doors near the Betty and Jerry McCabe Bench have been closed, and guests are being directed to use the nearby entrance to the left.

Owners and guests are reminded to remain aware of their surroundings, give wildlife plenty of space, and follow all posted signs while visiting the property.

Although the summer began with dry and smoky conditions, Breckenridge has since received some much-needed rain. Because fire restrictions can change throughout the season, owners should check the Summit County website for the latest information during their stay.

Oktoberfest Returns to Main Street

Fall is one of the most beautiful times to visit Breckenridge, and the season’s biggest celebration is just around the corner. The 30th annual Breckenridge Oktoberfest will take over Main Street September 25 through 27.

This three-day festival will feature live music, polka dancing, German food, stein-hoisting contests, and more. Saturday begins with the Oktoberfest 5K Trail Run, while Sunday’s schedule includes a kids’ costume contest along with other family-friendly activities. The festival is free to attend, with food, beverages, and commemorative steins available for purchase.

Other upcoming events include Breck Film Fest from September 17 – 20 and the Dia de Muertos and Latin Festival on October 16 and 17. The 26/27 ski season kicks off with Wake Up Breck on November 5, the morning before the anticipated opening of Breckenridge Ski Resort on November 6, conditions permitting. Join us at participating coffee shops that morning to grab a commemorative mug and free coffee while supplies last.
