Summer is in full swing here in the mountains! While we love the breathtaking Breckenridge views, our mountain town offers more than just natural beauty. We have summer festivals, performing arts, and other cultural events to fill your time while you are staying at your home away from home. If you are looking for some ideas for creative, family-friendly activities, consider the following: 

 In Breckenridge: 

  • BreckCreate offers a variety of art classes and workshops, from ceramics, mosaics, painting, and more! Many of these are located in the Breckenridge Arts District at the corner of Ridge Street and Washington Ave. Check out all their summer offerings here.  
  • National Repertory Orchestra’s Summer Music Festival consists of eight weeks of orchestral concerts. This organization strives to change lives through music and develop 21st-century musicians. The talent of the NRO is not to be missed, and many of their performances are at the Riverwalk Center, in the middle of downtown Breckenridge.  
  • If you are looking for professional and community theatre, look no further than the Backstage Theatre. This season’s performances include a Tony Award-winning musical and a comedy about an air guitar competition. Buy tickets here! 

 Beyond Breckenridge: 

  • One of Summit County’s newest creative spaces is the Art Spot Silverthorne Makerspace. In addition to offering programs, classes, and events, this location houses artist studios and a small retail area that sells original local artwork, including watercolors, photography, and ultralight gear. The Art Spot is located on the corner of Blue River Parkway and Fourth Street, in the heart of Silverthorne’s growing downtown.
     
  • With a combination of a dance floor, lawn seating, big musicians, and unbeatable views of Lake Dillon and the Ten Mile Range, the Dillon Amphitheater has quickly become a local favorite! Check out their full calendar of events here.
