Greetings from Breckenridge!

The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 enjoyed a busy summer, with occupancy returning to the levels seen before last winter. Now, the resort team is shifting its focus to fall maintenance, upcoming projects, and preparations for another ski season.

Around the Resort

With wildlife especially active this summer, the resort has made a temporary adjustment to its overnight entry. The automatic doors at the main entrance will be locked between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. During those hours, owners and guests may enter through the nearby side door.

The team is also exploring the possibility of adding a push button for after-hours access, similar to the one currently used at the automatic door leading to the Lobby Bar patio.

As the quieter fall season begins, the resort’s attention will turn to preventative maintenance and property projects. One of the biggest updates is an upgrade to the resort’s Wi-Fi network planned for October. No interruptions to Wi-Fi service are expected while the work is completed.

The Activities team continues to add new options for owners and guests of all ages. Family photo sessions remain a popular fall offering, and the Gr8 Escape Room continues to receive great reviews. The open studio is another guest favorite, allowing participants to choose from activities such as slime-making, tie-dye, pressed-flower art, and candle-making.

The Lobby Bar is also getting ready for winter with new seasonal beverages and a revamped happy hour.

Looking Ahead

Oktoberfest Returns to Main Street

Breckenridge’s biggest fall celebration returns September 25–27. This year marks the 30th annual Breckenridge Oktoberfest, bringing three days of live music, German food, polka dancing, and stein-hoisting contests to Main Street.

The street party runs from Friday through Sunday, with the Oktoberfest 5K Trail Run on Saturday morning and a kids’ costume contest on Sunday. The event is free to attend, although food, beverages, and commemorative steins are available for purchase.

Oktoberfest is just one of the many events filling the calendar this fall. Breck Film Fest takes place September 17–20, followed by the Día de Muertos and Latin Festival October 16–17. Explore more ideas for your next visit in our Fall 2026 Events Guide.

From Fall Color to First Chair

Once the fall foliage fades, the 26/27 ski season will not be far behind. Wake Up Breck returns November 5, giving visitors and locals a chance to pick up a commemorative mug and enjoy free coffee downtown before opening day.

Breckenridge Ski Resort is projected to open on November 6, weather and conditions permitting. Before your first day back on the mountain, remember to check your pass, schedule a tune for your skis or snowboard, and begin preparing your legs for those first turns. A Festive Start to December

On December 5, downtown will welcome the holiday season with the Lighting of Breckenridge and Race of the Santas. The celebration includes the Holiday Dog Parade, Children’s Moose March, hundreds of Santas running down Main Street and the countdown to the town tree lighting.
